The month of October in year 2021 has proven to be a very interesting one in celebrity circles going by the number of controversial gist that has trended.

One topic that appears to be rampant in celebrity circles at the moment is the release of intimate tapes or using them for blackmail. Many times, the women in these situations are the ones who get the most backlash from both fans and their colleagues.

These private unclad photos or intimate tapes are usually shared by people in their close circles especially after their attempts at blackmail has failed. In line with the recent trending topic, Legit.ng has compiled a short list of Nigerian female celebrities who have been in the news over their unclad photos and intimate tapes especially through blackmail.

1. Salawa Abeni: Legendary Nigerian singer and Waka queen, Salawa Abeni, was the target of a blackmailer sometime in April 2020 when she got WhatsApp messages from someone who claimed to have her unclad photos and event sent her proof. The blackmailer then demanded for money or he would make the photos go viral. However, Salawa Abeni decided to post his messages online as well as the photos he blackmailed her with. It was later that a 19-year-old was behind the blackmail and he was arrested.

2. Tiwa Savage: Top Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, also spoke in an interview some weeks ago about how her manager was sent a sex tape of her from an unknown person who was demanding money. The music star however decided to get on top of the narrative by sharing the news herself. Sadly, her intimate videos went viral a few weeks later and she received both encouraging messages and criticisms from people.

3. Jane Mena: Popular married dancer, Jane Mena, became a topic of discussion after actress Tonto Dikeh claimed her ex-boyfriend, Prince Kpokpogri had several videos of himself sleeping with Jane. Jane vehemently denied the claims and even dared Tonto to release the said clips. However, shortly after that, an audio recording of Kpokpogri attesting to sleeping with the married dancer took over social media like a wildfire.

4. Tonto Dikeh: Tonto Dikeh appears not to have much luck when it comes to men and is still battling issues with her ex-boyfriend, Prince Kpokpogri. In a new development, after getting her former bae arrested, the actress revealed that Kpokpogri threatened her with her sex tapes and also claimed that he had over 30 sex tapes of different women in his possession.

 

5. Toke Makinwa: A few years ago, media personality Toke Makinwa shared an email she received from a blackmailer on social media. Tonto Dikeh prepares to meet Jane Mena in court. The unidentified person demanded for money from the socialite and threatened to release her unclad photos. However, the snaps were edited photos of Toke in a swimsuit that she posted in 2018. It is safe to say the blackmailer didn’t get a dime.

Taking to her Instagram page, the mother of one noted that she would not be adding the year 2021 to her age. The actress held a star-studded 36th birthday party in June 2021 that had top politicians including Rochas Okorocha in attendance. According to Tonto, she would not be adding this year to her age because she did not make use of it.
