DELE MOMODU ACTIVATES PARTISAN MODE JOINS PDP.

Dele Momodu, a frontline journalist and publisher, has joined Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ahead of the 2023 general elections. Channels TV reported that Momodu announced his move to the PDP in a statement released on Friday morning, October 29. He explained that his decision was based on the need to contribute meaningfully to the development of the country.

Popular journalist and former presidential candidate, Dele Momodu, has returned to partisan politics by joining the opposition PDP.

And it is clear to me that given the dangerous and disastrous drift that our nation has experienced in the past six years, the only party from which amends can be made to rectify our situation is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”

Meanwhile, Momodu also accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of failing in delivering democratic dividends to Nigerians. According to him, the PDP has landmark achievements to show for its 16-year rule, from 1999 to 2015.

He said: “It is deeply saddening and regrettable that some of the biggest and landmark achievements recorded under the PDP administration have been diluted, wasted, or diminished by the present APC government.”

In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Momodu apologised for the role he allegedly played in 2015 in bringing President Muhammadu Buhari to power.

Legit.ng gathers that Momodu contested the 2011 presidential election on the platform of the National Conscience Party (NCP) but lost. Momodu, according to the election result released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), polled 26,376 votes which ranked him 11th in the election log, The Guardian stated.

You did the right thing for not continuing to sit on the fence and continue to criticize the political, meanwhile, you can aspire to contest in election and make a positive change. Waheed Ishola Safiu said: “What is different between both of them… both APC and PDP contributed to Nigeria downfall… they are bird of the same feathers…both of them lack ideology… under both of them masses are in abject poverty… nothing to write home about their performance… we need restructuring not all these corrupted politicians…”

Former Ondo governor Mimiko joins PDP. In a related development, executive members and stakeholders of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) on Thursday, October 28, agreed to join the PDP in Ondo state.

PDP LEADERS VISITED FORMER GOVERNOR OLUSEGUN MIMIKO.

The decision to join the PDP was made during a high-profile meeting at the Ondo town residence of the ZLP’s national leader, Olusegun Mimiko. Mimiko, a former governor of the state, explained that the PDP’s invitation to his party was in the bid to help Nigeria out from imminent destruction characterised by growing insecurity. He said this after his meeting with prominent PDP governors led by Seyi Makinde of Oyo state.
